nickelodeon competition

I am doing the nickelodeon competition where I have to create a comedic, character driven, and kid appeal character. This will  feature an original, funny lead character with about 2 side characters. This will be for a animated short with the length of 2 min. I have chosen a character i have originally made with 2 side characters. as long with character design there has to be a concept treatment, character description and a story board.

Polystyrene Gates animation test

i rigged up the polystyrene gates to see if it by creating an animation of it opening. I found that the rigs all didn't work and what work best was only using the first rig of it opening and just flattening it to create the illusion of opening. My team mates had i look and suggested a texture on the door to make it look less flat. I did two test with different  texture to see what one worked best.

This texture one was chosen as the favorite.

Unicorn test

I did a small test to make sure all the parts of the unicorn rig was working alright. I also did a test of the unicorn standing to make sure the rig work alright with it legs becoming arms. It's worked well and it legs bent right when turn to arms.

with the rig i created in Photoshop i put in to Toomboom to be ready for animating. 

Polystyrene Gates

I created polystyrene gates by using a polystyrene texture and creating rigs to make it look like its opening. I kept the design simple because it can be added with vines and flowers after by using everyone's flower design.
